Less Busy, More Nature

With so many things here in the PNW still closed I’ve spent the past several months getting outside as often as I can. Our weather is often rainy right up until July 5th or so, and some years it’s just not feasible to get out there and enjoy some early summer rays.

I’m grateful that this year we’ve had a fair amount of sunshine interspersed with our typical gloom since I’m now using the great outdoors as my gym, therapist’s office, and entertainment source.

Over the past three months I’ve learned how much nature really centers and, much like creativity, it’s also a balm for the soul.

The lush greenery of Washington is also inspiration for a new series I’m working on. Originally I’d planned to set this series in a bustling metropolis, but the past couple months getting back to nature convinced me to create my own world. One where there’s a small college city nestled in the mountains, near water, and that also boasts a burgeoning nightlife scene.

The town of Cascade Falls, Washington has captivated me and I hope it will enthrall my readers as well. Stay tuned over the next couple months, as I share more about Cascade Falls and the people you’ll meet there!

Have a Happy Holiday Season with Free Books and Giveaways!

Can you believe it’s the holidays? It’s crazy to think there’s just a couple weeks left in 2019. The Romance Studio is hosting their annual Holiday Party, happening now until Monday!

Readers have a chance to win free books and other giveaways, including a chance to win a copy of my short story Safe Haven. I’m also sharing snippets from my books, so if you’d like to read an excerpt or two, stop by each day to see what stories (and scenes) I share.

During this holiday season and all year long, I want my readers to know how grateful I am for you! Thank you so much to everyone who has bought one of my books, left a review, a comment on social media and my blog, and subscribed to my newsletter. Writing is a solitary profession and it brings me joy to know that someone, somewhere has liked a story that I’ve written.

Have a joyous holiday season!

March Madness…Romance Author Style

I can hardly believe it’s March. Hello? It feels like Christmas, was like, two weeks ago.

Needless to say I’ve been quiet here and on social media for months now. I’ve been working on projects off and on and just generally, trying to decide what to do with a book series I really, really hope sees the light of day. But…more about that later.

This month I’m attempting to get into the swing of things, promo-wise, by participating in a couple of reader events online. The first is The Romance Studio’s St. Patrick’s Day party.

The party will run online all next week, beginning Monday, March 13 and ending on Friday, March 17. I hope you’ll join me and the other authors blogging at TRS for the party. There will be lots of giveaways, like free books and gift cards, so be sure to drop by.

Also, later this month, on March 25th, I’ll be participating in The Romance Reviews’ sixth anniversary party. There are prizes every day of this giveaway, but on the day of my event, I’ll be giving away a copy of my short story Special Delivery to one lucky winner!

To enter to win, all you’ll have to do is play a quick, easy Q&A. Here’s the direct link to the event: http://www.theromancereviews.com/event.php again, my Q&A will be live on March 25th only, but feel free to enter the other giveaways each day!

Find me at The Romance Studio’s Spookapalooza Party!

Beginning today until the 31st, I’ll be posting at The Romance Studio’s party site celebrating all things Halloween during their Spookapalooza Party.

There’s prizes up for grabs like gift cards and free books, including my short erotic romance Red, a retelling of Red Riding Hood, so be sure to visit the party often and enter to win one of the spook-tacular prizes!

#BlogAhead2016 ~ Blogging in October!

I love blogging, contrary to what my readers may think, due in part to my spectacular lack of blogging throughout 2016. This year has been crazy and while I am not holding my breath that things will slow down to a respectable pace (I’m not sure I want them to!) I am trying to do what I can to keep writing, promoting and blogging.

Enter an awesome challenge for the month of October called Blog Ahead.

blog-ahead

The goal of Blog Ahead is to use the month of October to work ahead and increase future blog posts by 30. I’m beginning October with just two, yes, two measly scheduled posts. My goal is to have at least 32 posts scheduled for future use by the end of the challenge on Oct. 31.

Are you a blogger too? Want to take part in the challenge, or just cheer someone on? Feel free to leave me a comment and/or visit the other bloggers taking part in Blog Ahead. http://www.herdingcats-burningsoup.com/2016/08/Blog-Ahead-Sign-Up-2016.html

Welcome to My Website!

Beginning today, this will be the only place that I’ll blog and have updated contact/book information. I’ve thought about registering my own domain for a while, but held back because I worried the process would be complex or too-techie for me.

I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered how user-friendly WordPress is.

So, with the new domain and site design I decided to also roll out a new author tagline. Well, I didn’t really have a tagline before, so I guess I can’t say “new” but more like “finally have” a tagline. As you see under the banner with my name my tagline is: Dark. Daring. Decadent. Erotic fiction at its hottest.

And that is truly what I strive to do when I create my stories. I may not always write in paranormal, but I can promise my fans that all my books will be erotic, with a dark and sometimes dangerous, envelope-pushing touch.

So what’s on the horizon now that I’ve created this new site and author tagline? Well, I can’t spill all the beans, but here’s the shortlist of what I can share with you now

  1. I’m launching my author newsletter this summer. Sign-up is quick, free and easy. I’ll send out my mailing list every 2-3 months and I’ll only share information about upcoming releases and sales. Interested? Sign up here.
  2. I’ll soon have a street team. I’m trying to come up with a lively name but so far there’s only one sticking in my head…and I don’t know about that name. Once I have everything worked out, I’ll post here and on social media to recruit members. My street team will get first peek at ARCs (Advanced Reading Copies), swag and lots more.
  3. Writing is all about relationships, both with readers, industry professionals and other authors. I’ll post writing tips here twice a month, so my fellow authors and aspiring writers, be sure to follow my blog by clicking the ‘FOLLOW’ button on the upper right column.
  4. It’ll soon be easier for authors and bloggers to interview me or feature information about my books on their sites. I’m working on creating press kits for my books and one that’s an author profile.
  5. I have a new release coming soon! It’ll be a venture of firsts for me. The Indelible Series is paranormal BDSM and it also combines a bad ass female vampire Domme as well as a M/M/F love triangle. Intrigued? Book one Indelible Lust is releasing this summer, so watch this space for more info.

I hope my readers like my website and will take a look around.
